This was the first major refresh of the standards that were set out nearly 45 years earlier. Some of the most significant changes included:<\/p><ul><li>WCAG 2.0 Level AA compliance requirements for federal websites<\/li><li>All content created for the general public must be accessible to disabled users.<\/li><li>Expansion of where the section 508 standards should be applied, to include things such as electronic documents.<\/li><li>All software and operating systems should be compatible with <a href=\"https:\/\/reciteme.com\/us\/news\/assistive-technology-who-needs-it\/\">assistive technologies<\/a>.
